Bearings by Type
Spyraflo’s bronze bearings are manufactured in accordance with MPIF Standard 35, equivalent to SAE 840 and ASTM B438/438M-05 specifications, and contain approximately 25% oil (by volume). Bronze bearings are pre-lubricated with oil that is vacuum-impregnated into the pores of the structure during production. Rotation of the shaft creates a hydrodynamic action that self-lubricates the bearing by drawing oil to the surface creating a film between the bearing and shaft.
Bronze bearings are ideal for high-speed, medium-load applications and are well suited where electrical current or static electricity must pass through the bearings and dissipate to the machine frame. Additional options include food-contact oils or the addition of graphite as a solid lubricant.
